Blood, Sweat & Cheer

Jun 12, 2019

Welcome to the Blood Sweat & Cheer Podcast! In the very first episode, Stephanie Britt, owner of Cheer Savannah Allstars, one of the best competitive cheer programs in the world, shares how she started her cheer gym that grew into an Empire!

In seventh grade, Stephanie missed her shot at tryouts out for her middle school cheer team, so she spent the year perfecting her skills. Then, Stephanie made the team as an 8th grader and was one of the best tumblers and cheerleaders in Middle Georgia. By the time her junior year rolled around, she was team captain and left her part-time job as a waitress and started her own tumbling business.

Stephanie became obsessed with studying and learning her craft. Her first setback was the summer after her senior year when she was denied the chance to join the NCA summer camp staff. At Georgia Southern, Stephanie tried out for the cheer team and was also rejected due to her policy of always being honest!

Eventually, Stephanie hosted the first ever GISA Cheerleading Competition, exclusively for private schools in Georgia. This helped her build relationships with cheer coaches in Georgia who eventually hired her when she started her own summer camp business.

After moving to Savannah, Georgia, Stephanie decided to take out a newspaper ad for Savannah’s first all-star cheer team. Her team of 24 beginner cheerleaders went on to win their very first competition, the FCC National Championship in Orlando Florida.

Stephanie started Cheer Savannah to help little girls’ dreams come true and ignite her passion. However, she always wondered when she was going to get a real job, because this cheer coaching gig was simply her passion.

While growing her brand and program, Stephanie started her family and her 2 daughters excelled as cheerleaders and athletes. Stephanie adopted her son from Bethesda Home for Boys who went on to play football at UGA & in the NFL. Her daughter Southern now cheers for UGA after she and her sister Saylor made it to the top 10 at the World Championships!

Stephanie explains how she always helped others, and how her business grew to be one of the largest in the country, and then suffered hardships as competitors opened and tried to shut her down. She describes methods she used to be a great sports mom and cheer mom! Stephanie passes on her passion for empowering women and girls to be their best self and never give up on their dreams!
